THE LAWSYou may kill other players. BUT: * Your victim must be over level 5. * Your victim must not be more than 5 levels below you. If you attack someone more than 5 levels above you, then you are asking for that person to OOL retaliate, so it's just not a good idea. At this time, logging in more than one character at a time is strictly illegal. Multi-playing also includes consecutively attacking a target or targets with more than one character. You may not die, or get safe from combat, quit, log in another character, and rejoin the fight. You MUST allow ALL participants in a battle to get out of the 90 second violence timer. A good rule of thumb is to allow at least 10 minutes between fights with consecutive characters. This does not mean, that you may rejoin a fight with another character after waiting 10 minutes, if others are still participating. Please remember that sometimes battles among groups may last quite some time. Use good judgement here please. Players found in violation of this policy will be subject to slay, deletion or ban as deemed necessary by the adminstration. This policy is subject to change without notice. Kill out of level and you will get (WANTED). There is NO way to get pardoned. Should you escape the eyes of authority, however, the flag WILL wear off with time. LOTS of time. Here's the consequences of receiving a WANTED flag: -- You will be autoattacked by police mobs, such as Law, and
various other guards while the flag lasts.
The immortals of Great Hunt reserve the right to take action
against chronic violators of the OOL rules.
While it will not always be clear when someone has recently died, and accidents will occur, too many "accidents" will result in immortal action. The general spirit of these rules are that we do not want to see people minding their own business re-equipping getting senselessly harassed. Stick to the spirit of the game. Purposely killing someone linkdead is downright nasty. If you see a (Linkdead) flag in front of someone's name, BELIEVE it and move on. Stealing is an aggressive act. If you fail at stealing something, your victim WILL automatically attack you. If someone is fighting a mob, please consider courtesy and allow them to finish without your help. Unless of course, they ask. If you kill, loot, and sac someone, expect it to happen to you. Looting is permitted. Anyone can take anything of course. When you loot a corpse of someone you did not kill, expect the killer of this character to be after you. If you get Pkilled, please don't whine. We're all adults here.
THE PRINCIPLES: Anyone this is found to be enhanced aside from guild leaders and other role-playing characters such as the Forsaken and Padan Fain will be corrected by the immortals. Also, any immortals found enhancing players without permission, be it hitpoints or eq, will be deleted when proof is found. Cheating - JUST DON'T DO IT. If you are caught cheating, you will be removed from this mud or punished as the immortals consider adequate. Punishable Cheating Offenses: * Accepting enhanced eq from anyone without proper reason. (Guild eq, Quest eq ARE proper reasons) * Accepting money, favors, anything else from immortals. (Both players will be removed in this case!) * Killing WANTED people with the intention of clearing their flag and returning their eq or suicide with a WANTED flag. * Abuse of technical loopholes of this policy or code bugs you discovered. Restores will be given out as immortals see fit. The more you ask for them, the less they will happen. Consider yourself lucky to receive them. Lag happens quite a bit on the Internet. It does not matter where you connect, or what you do there, it is common. (sad to say) All we ask is that if you ARE lagging, don't whine and complain about it. This, sometimes, makes the lag even worse by making the mud process more data. Chances are that everyone is in the same boat, so stick it out. Please refrain from swearing on open channels. The outlet for anything that might be inappropriate is the "flame" channel. If you wish to avoid being offended, it is strongly suggested that you turn off your flame channel. |
